EV charging

EV charger electrical permit packet

A 48 A or 60 A EVSE will blow a 100 A service that was already tight. The packet runs the charger through Article 220, shows the breaker on the panel schedule, and draws it on the one-line so plan check can see whether the existing service holds.

Demand, not just nameplate

The engine applies the EV demand rules in the 2025 CEC, including load management when you mark the circuit as EMS-managed. That is the difference between a set that calls for a 200 A upgrade and one that keeps the existing main.

Fleet and multifamily chargers belong on the commercial or multifamily path, where the calc uses the occupancy and unit count instead of a single-family optional method.

What ships in the packet

Every job produces six 11×17 sheets: cover, general electrical notes, single line diagram, panel schedules, electrical load calculation, and utility service data. The title block carries your company, license, and revision history.

A residential set is $89. Multifamily and commercial are priced from unit count and floor area. Corrections and re-downloads stay free on that job.
